Shay Murtagh was engaged by Glanua Ltd. to deliver key precast concrete infrastructure for the Adamstown Water Treatment Plant upgrade in Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford. This significant project, valued at over €19 million, is set to improve water quality and supply reliability for more than 65,000 residents across Waterford City and County.
Our scope of work included the design, manufacture, and installation of:
- Two UWWEST Tanks, each with an internal diameter of 14.280m and panel height of 5m
- One Backwash Tank, with an internal diameter of 13.310m and panel height of 3m
- A 35-tonne precast sump, integrated into the Backwash Tank
The Backwash Tank presented unique design challenges due to the significant weight of the precast sump. Our expert team at Shay Murtagh carefully coordinated the manufacturing and installation process to ensure seamless integration with the wider infrastructure.
This project, led by Glanua Ltd. on behalf of Uisce Éireann, will ensure:
- Compliance with Drinking Water Regulations
- Improved drinking water quality
- A more resilient and reliable supply for Waterford’s homes and businesses
At Shay Murtagh, we take pride in delivering high-quality precast concrete solutions for critical infrastructure projects. Our design expertise, manufacturing precision, and logistical capabilities ensure the successful completion of complex water treatment projects.
