Shay Murtagh Precast are Industry leaders in the supply of bespoke precast solutions with we expert transportation. Transportation is a key department in Shay Murtagh. We have a great team and we are looking to expand our current heavy haulage UK and National fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for any driver that wants to work for the market leader in the industry. We also have open positions for crane drivers on mobile plant around Ireland. We are based in Mullingar so suitable candidates should be a commutable distance from our Head Office.
Main Requirements & Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities set out below will form an integral part of the role of the driver position:
- Qualified and experienced Artic/Rigid HGV driving experience
- Clean valid full driving licence with the necessary up to date CPC license requirements
- Ideally have 2 years Artic/Rigid driving experience cross channel
- Haulage of long and/or abnormal loads would be preferable
- Flexibility in working hours & shifts is extremely important
- Looking after any company vehicle in your care- completing checklist, keeping vehicle clean, ensure everything is in working order
- Complete mandatory vehicle safety checks including checking any load that it is loaded and strapped safely.
- Report any defects or maintenance on various in-company apps and email communication system.
- Compliance and accuracy of Tachographs and other paperwork is essential i.e. road permits if required, travel details and load requirements with receipts, CPC modules and training completed

Health, Safety and Environment Group Manager
Develop and enhance an uncompromising Culture around the successful implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety Policy group wide.
- Pro-actively manage health, safety and welfare to ensure compliance and best safe working practices from both a production, manufacturing and site point of view with an overall aim to significantly reduce any incidents.
- Actively champion the health & safety function throughout all areas of the business in keeping with continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor legislative updates, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly and in accordance with standard procedures.
- Conduct both site and factory safety audits, produce applicable metrics and/or scorecards, follow up with accountability and corrective actions for outcomes.
- Robust and through investigation, recording and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses in a prompt manner ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
- Provide relevant accident information and robust reporting for Insurance purposes
- Identify new and on-going safety related training in conjunction with H&S Site Officers
- You will be responsible for ensuring that all sites and manufacturing facilities are all in compliance with EHS regulations, developing the EHS plan to assist in driving the ongoing long term strategic aims of the Company

Professional Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a person of professional ethics, the highest integrity and will have;
- A recognized 3rd level professional Health & Safety/Environmental qualification
- A background of managing and leading a team in a multi-site, manufacturing & site environment
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably with a background in civil engineering/construction rail and/or infrastructure

Quality Admin/Document controller
The Quality Admin/Document Controller will be tasked with the organisation and supervision of all Quality associated documentation. This includes but is not limited to:
- Generation of Quality Assurance check sheets, SOPs and Procedures in accordance with the Company Quality System and relevant National Standards.
- Will assume responsibility for compiling Client Quality Assurance packs and Project Quality Plans as required.
- Generate project Inspection & Test Plans (ITP’s) and upload to the company’s ERP system (JARVIS)
- Lead the Document Control function for the company and its accredited laboratory
- Administer and maintain approved vendor information
- Administration of quality assurance records in both hard and soft copy formats
- The candidate will also participate in the Plant and Laboratory Internal Audit Program following appropriate training.
- Gathering of related metrics, compilation of same and reporting of findings in various dashboard formats.
- Support the management team by providing efficient office administration in regards to Quality documentation while liaising with various managers on project documentation & certification
- Collation of information and data from various sources to provide accurate reports/packs
- Participate fully on any Lean Development Projects or Continuous improvement initiatives, and embrace new methods of working
- Contribute to the continued success of the Company through a positive attitude and a commitment to integrity, quality, safety, housekeeping and leadership

Person Specification
- Excellent attention to detail & organisational skills are essential.
- Ability to think methodically, plan and manage tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills (non-verbal, listening, problem solving, decision making, assertiveness, responsibility), are required for this role, along with the ability to work with all stakeholders in the wider team
- Highly proficient IT skills are required essentially in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Knowledge and experience of working with a Quality Management system ISO9001 would be advantageous but not essential.
Site Engineer / Project Manager
This is a full-time Site Engineer / Project Manager Role at Shay Murtagh Precast Ltd working on large scale Data Centre Projects starting with a Marque project in Dublin 15. This role is Ideally suited for a project manager with 3+ years’ experience or a site engineer with similar experience looking to move to a PM role. In this role you will be responsible for working alongside the install crews, site co-ordination of site activities in conjunction with the CM, monitoring accuracy of the installation of precast elements, quality checking and managing our site teams. As well as this you will be expected to manage site deliveries, site paperwork, progress reports.
Work Activities & Responsibilities
- Coordination of site activities in conjunction with Contracts Manager and Site Foreman and also monitoring the dimensional accuracy of the installation of precast elements.
- Quality checking and compiling of inspection reports.
- Liaison and arranging site deliveries and craneage.
- Liaise with our clients site team and communicate requirements.
- Attending site meetings and maintaining communication to the CM and Site Team on outcomes
- Coordination, communication and monitoring of site H&S Requirements in conjunction with CM and Health & Safety Manager.
- Technical responsibility relating to projects on site including (but not limited to) reading and interpretation of all construction drawings.
- Liaise with Contracts Manager in relation to production programming and delivery of units to site for timely install.
- Assist the CM with project programming and control works progress against agreed programmes.
- Liaise with Transport Manager in planning and scheduling of all delivery requirements for site.
- Self-motivated and meticulous, you must also have the ability to prioritise your workload effectively and maintain good accurate daily records.
- Working knowledge of Auto-Cad and Eurocodes along with excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages and the use of 3D modelling.
- Possess good organization, planning and time management skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Willingness to develop commercial acumen, in addition to technical skills as part of your commitment to ongoing self-improvement as part of your CPD
Skills & Qualities For the role:
- Degree qualified (L7 or L8) in Civil/Structural Engineering/ Construction Management Degree (or equivalent)
Setting out experience not essential but desirable. - Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role ideally.
- Ability to think methodically, plan and manage projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills.
- Over time, develop negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate.
- Ability to work under pressure, balance priorities, and meet strict deadlines is essential and being highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges.
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Valid up to date Safe-pass, SSSTS card/CSCS card, Appointed Persons and other related training and tickets are desirable but these can be provided by SMP to the correct candidate.
- Full clean valid driving license is required and willingness to travel for work.
