Shay Murtagh Precast Bridge Beams provided as part of a bridge upgrade. Shay Murtagh recently contracted to manufacture and deliver a number of precast concrete units for Beresford Road Bridge upgrade works being undertaken by BAM Nuttall. Beresford Road Bridge, situated in Cardiff City Centre targeted for refurbishment. Network Rail’s Upgrade Plan to electrify the South Wales Mainline. This will result in more seats, faster, more reliable journeys for passengers and an economic boost for the area due to improved connectivity.
Tony Gee, bridge designer provided technical drawings and Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured the following units:
- 15 Box Beams (31-42 Tonnes)
- 4 Cill Beams (20-36 Tonnes)
- 18 Parapet Walls
- 20 Approach Parapet Walls
Delivery of the Shay Murtagh Precast Bridge Beams took place between the 17th of September and the 16th of October and the project was completed efficiently, safely and to schedule.
