Liam McGovern, Director of Shay Murtagh Precast officially launched the 3rd edition of the Bridge Beam Technical Manual today at Infrarail 2014, Earls Court, London.
A Resource for Engineers
From its first launch, the Shay Murtagh Technical Manual has been a uniquely useful source of information for everyone involved in the design and construction of bridge beams. The Manual has included invaluable features such as Bridge Beam Span Tables and a Designers’ Checklist.
New Features for the Third Edition
- The third edition features our online library using Building Information Modelling, the computerised data-sharing technique which is revolutionising the construction industry.
- The Span Tables for TY, TYE, Y and YE beams have been updated following a more rigorous series of design estimates. Details relating to strand layouts and cross sectional dimensions have also been enhanced for the same beam types.
- The designers’ checklist, which has been a popular feature of the two previous editions, is revised and expanded in the third.
